Women in the Art and Storytelling of The Saint John’s Bible
December 2 @ 11:00 am$9 - $14
One of the goals of The Saint John’s Bible was to uplift those people often found in the margins of society like the poor, homeless, children, and women. This presentation looks at how women are represented in The Saint John’s Bible – a fresh and modern view of the importance of women and their specific skills and talents in our modern and traditional world. The unique and powerful place of women in faith formation, consolidation of social values, and the creation of Christianity and its place in the world are all explored. The price of the lecture includes a discounted entrance fee to the museum and includes The Saint John’s Bible exhibit. Tours will be available after the lecture for a more detailed study of the original artwork and methods. At 2:00pm there will be a Seeing the Word meditation and discussion session using the Wisdom Woman illumination.
