Foods of the Bible: Dinner
|A Bible brunch with wonderful and original foods, learning a little about the St John’s Bible and helping to support the upcoming exhibit
This fall we will be hosting one of the biggest exhibitions in our history, Illuminating the Word: The Saint John’s Bible. The exhibition features 68 original pages of calligraphed and hand-illuminated calfskin vellum that have toured only a handful of U.S. locations on their way to a permanent home at a new gallery built in Collegeville, MN.
To help defray the expenses associated with hosting an exhibition of this magnitude, we are holding a fundraiser to share our goals for the project and spread the good word. The event will feature a silent auction, cash bar, open museum tours, and an introduction to The Saint John’s Bible. We will also be sharing a fantastic meal by the Rex Cafe, featuring a selection of foods from the Bible.

|Taking Inspiration: Dabble in Watercolor and Calligraphy
Course Code: AAM52A
|This enlightening and original class is heavy on color and light on lettering! Go back to kindergarten and learn in a relaxing and fun way as we take our inspiration from The Saint John’s Bible – the first hand-written and illuminated Bible in 500 years. Our host Gethsemane Cathedral has a copy of one of the volumes that we can reference for inspiration. Everyone can do this class – no experience required. Be ready to color outside the lines, bend the arc of learning toward fun activities, and be prepared to amaze yourself artistically. Students should bring an eraser, ruler, paint brush, notebook, reading glasses (if needed) and any watercolor paints or pencils.||26/10, 2/11 and 9/11||$64 Register at Moorhead Community Ed||Gethsemane|
