Description
First used around 450 years ago, the technique of using paint and starch to create unique and highly variable designs on paper remains a simple and versatile method to decorate paper. They are simple to produce – rather like finger painting and having creative free play time. Be prepared, making paste paper is addictive! Paste papers can be used for greeting cards, wrapping paper, book covers, decorating boxes, collages, kites – anywhere you want bright, vibrant designs.
Wet pages can be taken home carefully (they do not dry quickly) or picked up the following week.
We will also take some of our pretty cover papers and make 2 different book designs and structures. The art of making books is relaxing and very contemplative – folding paper, sewing rhymically – and seeing simple materials become a notebook, journal, a gift, a treasure.
With paste paper and book making, we can create magic with paper and simple tools that is pleasing to the heart and soul. All supplies will be provided.
